Varying from location to location, there is something for everyone within the family of businesses. Crawlers can hop on when it pulls up in front of the location they’re at, or summon it by texting the driver. Mo’s Universe has upgraded the bar crawl concept by creating the Mo’s Mobile - a golf cart that cycles between all five locations on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. “Since everyone does rainbow flags, our flamboyance brought us flamingos.” “The history of the pink flamingos was we wanted to stand out during Pride,” Volk said. “Each location has different food stylings, and we kind of cater toward different crowds,” Marketing and Events Director Lukas Volk said.Įach year, during San Diego’s Pride celebrations, an army of pink flamingo floaties hover around the eaves of each restaurant in the group. Whether locals want a night of clubbing and cocktails or craft brews and sit-down dinners, they can find a variety of experiences and flavors at the Mo’s Universe businesses scattered throughout the neighborhood. For almost three decades, some of the most commonly frequented restaurants and bars in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego have been those under the umbrella ownership of Mo’s Universe. The vibe is semi casual but sexy and sultry since it’s dim and feels exclusive.
The bathrooms look very interesting graffiti on purpose almost seems like there would be a glory hole somewhere There’s a delicious taco shop around the corner so grab a bite The drinks are stiff so eat before arriving or leaving. The bartenders really know their stuff They have a simple menu of drinks and can pretty much make your choice of drink. So you go down a tiny hall and come across a keg wall yes that opens up and boom there you go the bar that sits 30 beautiful checkered floors and very intimate seating, it’s almost sharing and listening to everyone’s convos until you warm up and everyone gets comfortable with drinks. The place is a bit twisted but in its own little unique way. The owners closed down their kitchen and they are using half of it It’s funny because it’s like they got a deal on some cold commercial tables and now just use them as part of their story - their story goes as follows. Īs you walk in someone walks you to the bar but not before the instruct you on the popcorn - it’s forbidden in the bar only allowed in the waiting area which are those cold commercial kitchen tables / that are in where you wait when you don’t have reservations. At first when you come across the location # you will sayīecause all you see is a door and some comercial restaurant kitchen tables and such. Look for the actual address number and go from there.
SAN DIEGO GAY BARS TUESDAY NIGHT WINDOWS
While looking for the address keep in mind that you will not find the location with the actual name of The noble experiment anywhere not on windows - not at the door I made a reservation on line which is why I’m starting off with this part in the review because I think part of us having a reservation was very helpful and enjoying the experience , This is a show, therefore the entertainers run it, it is not a Karaoke Bar. IT IS POPULAR AND CROWDED! Do not arrive without a reservation. None of mine were and we "knew" people, so do not take that personally. I will agree with some posts, DO NOT EXPECT YOUR REQUEST TO BE PLAYED! It was great when the crew asked my friend who recently underwent major surgery the month before onstage for a duet of "We are the Champions" by queen, it was really a nice thing to have been there across the country from my home to have that happen for him. The crowd was a variety of everyone and anyone, all were enjoying themselves immensely, I might have turned a few heads myself signing along. I found the prices for food and drink to be average for the area, not expensive, but not Applebee's prices either.
My friends and myself were there to celebrate a friend recovering after surgery the month before. The location is superb, the building interior was amazing and the entertainers very amusing. I have been to a few dueling piano bars in the past, most notably Sing Sing in Denver when I lived there (now closed), so I had some experience in this type of thing! While I was visiting some very good friends in the San Diego area in November, part of a much longer transcontinental voyage, I was introduced to this magnificent establishment.
